YIDFF 2013では、前回好評だった「ヤマガタ映画批評ワークショップ」を、今年も開催することになりました。映画祭というライブな環境に身を置きながら、ドキュメンタリー映画を通して、世界について思考し、執筆し、読むことを奨励するプロジェクトです。参加者は、プロの映画批評家のアドバイスを受けて文章を執筆し、それを一般に発表します。ドキュメンタリー映画批評の執筆に意欲ある方のご応募をお待ちしております！
【ヤマガタ映画批評ワークショップ 募集要項】
■期間：10月11日(金) ― 14日(月・祝)
■場所：山形国際ドキュメンタリー映画祭会場（山形市）
■応募条件：
［1］10月11日～14日の間、山形映画祭に参加できること
［2］日本語または英語での議論、執筆ができること
［3］交通費、現地滞在費を自己負担できること

■結果発表： 書類選考後、日本語・英語、各２名ずつが選ばれ、9月下旬発表。
■内容：本年上映作品鑑賞後、各自、評を執筆。講師とのマンツーマン指導。

【講師紹介】
クリス・フジワラ（映画批評家、アメリカ） Chris Fujiwara
日刊新聞から『Film Comment』や『Sight and Sound』のような映画批評専門誌まで幅広く執筆活動を続ける。東京大学、アメリカのイェール大学やエマーソン大学などで教鞭を執り、2003年より毎年、ベルリン国際映画祭の若手育成プログラム「タレント・キャンパス」で若手映画批評家の指導についている。現在、エディンバラ映画祭アーティスティック・ディレクター。
著書に『Jerry Lewis』、『The World and Its Double: The Life and Work of Otto Preminger』、『Jacques Tourneur：The Cimema of Nightfall』など。
北小路隆志（映画批評家、日本） Kitakoji Takashi
京都造形芸術大学映画学科准教授、成蹊大学非常勤講師。
朝日新聞や装苑、キネマ旬報などで映画評を執筆。著書に『王家衛的恋愛』、共著『映画の政治学』、『ペドロ・コスタ 遠い部屋からの声』、『ゼロ年代＋の映画』など。

YIDFF 2013 will once again host the Yamagata Film Criticism Workshop.
This project aims to encourage thinking, writing, and reading about film, using documentaries as an entry point,
While offering immersion in the live atmosphere of an international film festival. Participants will receive guidance from professional film critics and write their own articles, which will be presented publicly. We look forward to receiving your applications!

To apply, you:
1: Must be able to attend YIDFF 2013 from October 11th – 14th
2: Must be able to write and engage in discussions in English or Japanese
3: Must be able to cover one’s own travel and accommodation expenses

Workshop content:
After watching films at YIDFF 2013, participants will each write reviews and critiques. Mentors will provide personal supervision.
